About Dr. Anne Zachry

Dr. Anne Zachry has been a pediatric occupational therapist for over 30 years and has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, with her doctorate related to tummy time and mobility.
Her mission is to empower parents by sharing evidence-based strategies and resources to promote infant and child development. She has written for Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine, Babytalk Magazine, Parenthood.com, Babble.com, and Parents.com.
She has been quoted in Parenting magazine, Education.com and Sheknows.com and has served as a “ProSquad” parenting advisor for parentingsquad.com. Her research has been published in national peer-reviewed journals and in her profession’s trade magazines.

Her book, “Retro Baby, Cut Back on all the Gear and Boost Your Baby’s Development with over 100 Time-Tested Activities” won the Independent Bookseller’s Benjamin Franklin Gold Medal.
She is also the author of “Retro Toddler, More than 100 Old-School Activities to Promote Development. She is a former Professor and Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Zachry is happily married with three adult children.
